What's up ?

It's been pretty damn long since I last blogged . To be truthful , I'm really busy trying to catch up in life . Studies , sports , board games and a few more make a short list long . Entertainment is no longer an option , no doubt for that fact .

Pure Science + Accounts and 4 tuitions ( Chemistry , Accounts , Malay , Add. Maths ) . Killer combination . Trust me . You'll not want to choose the Pure Science stream for the fun of it like I did . Yeah , it's true ,I picked the Pure Science stream not for anything but flexibility and a way of proving things. I ain't interested in anything that involves Chemistry , Physics or Biology , hell I'm not even interested in learning Malaysian History or Moral . But that's the dilemma all Malaysian students suffer . We're learning something we're reluctant to learn as there'll little to no benefits . Malaysian History and Moral , I mean seriously ? Why the hell would I want to know those kind of crap ? General Knowledge ? Clearly , different people have a different perception of morality . Why not let us learn about technology ? Now that's General Knowledge . At least we'll be able to put those into use some time in the future .

What I'm interested in ?
Business , Music .
I don't have the slightest interest in dissecting people .
Neither do have the slightest interest in mixing liquid .
I never have and never will be having an affection to dwell in the past .

Moral ?
Screw moral . I'll show you the same amount of respect you show me .

Respect God and Believe in God ?
I'll respect any "God" as long as you don't say shit about me having no religion .
Believing in God depends on one's perspective . Don't lecture me about believing in God .

Learning the past in order to prevent the same thing from happening ?
Apparently , I've no interest in "trying" to win a lost battle .

What methods I think should be implemented in Malaysia's education system ?
A variety of subjects from anything to everything .
An option to pick subjects we favor , don't provide us with "compulsory" subjects .
Language subjects being compulsory is fine . ( English only )

But life as we all know it tends to go against our will . So either strive or strive .
Quiting is not an option . Quiting is an option for losers . Quiting is an option for the pride-less . Quiting is not an option for winners . Quiting is not an option for those with pride .
Get that fact in your head .

On a brighter side , sports . Believe me or not , sports is a life saver .
Imagine a basketball thrown by nobody but you entered the hoop guarded by two to three players.
Imagine a football kicked by nobody but you entered the goal guarded by a goalkeeper and a few defenders.
Imagine running the cross country and winning first place .
Imagine putting the longest shot in a shot put .

Now imagining is the first step , the second is working for it , the third and last step is achieving it .
The bliss and immense pride gained .
One may not show it but deep down inside he/she is extremely excited .
The next aim is to break a record set by himself or herself or someone else .
The moment you know you did it .
That's the moment everyone would savor .

The next is a mind boggling activity , board games .
Every board game is mind boggling . Whether it's chess , checkers , scrabble , monopoly , and many , many more .
I'm not sure about all board games but I do know for chess and scrabble , you need strategy , memory , imagination , the ability to persevere and patience .
Lack one and you might not be able to be on the victorious side .
Recently , I realized I'm unable to memorize words or strategies . I've also lost my ability to persevere and to be patient which is going to cost me everything I've dreamt of .
The dream to represent my country for the second time , the dream to represent my school for the seventh year in a row , the dream to represent my state .
It'll be really ironic to lose all those dreams in a year which I do not plan to .
So here I shall vow I'll achieve at least 2 of the above .

So there . YOU just witness the comeback of my blog . One of the few places I vent my frustration , disappointment . One of the few places I share my happiness , dreams , aims , achievements . One of the few places I have to maintain my sanity . One of the few places I write almost every single damn thing .

Another piece I wrote when I was 12 . Back then , there were only 16 lines and those lines sounded really raw and imperfect so I decided to give them a polish and totally change them while retaining da same meaning .

Yeah , this is ma first piece I wrote when I was 12 , wanted to retain da meaning of it , so , I didn't add a chorus neither did I make big changes to it ... hard to complete a 1/2 - 3/4 written song 3 years back , the emotions then and now ain't da same .

It was ma mistake to take that microphone ,

Yeah ... all Form 3 and 5 students might probably think the same way ...

Well I've had my time to relax , to go out loiterin' (lepak-in') , to do everythin' I might not be able to do when school reopens . And to be honest , I'm glad at the same time I'm sad and regrettin' and thinkin' whether whatever I did was worth the time and chances I got . Guess it's a waste of time doin' that ... time to move on with da groove .

Well I'll start with ma first week of school holidays , which I practically did nothin' ... merely sittin' in front of the computer . No movies , no outin's with ma friends ... just a buffet lunch-dinner .

The second week was a blast ... seriously I'll thank ya , Brandon Choo , Daryl Ho , Diinalan , Diivananthan , Hafiz , Hafiz Sabah and Weng Hang . Appreciate your help to free me from ma boredom .

On Monday , watchin' The Karate Kid and Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time was awesome ... as far as I can remember , it's ma first time watchin' two movies in a day .

On Thursday , watchin' The A-Team was fantastic ... the plans were well elaborated ... well actually I wanted to watch becoz walkin' to school at 2.00p.m. is a bit too hot so I had Brandon to follow me to Summit at 11.45a.m. till bout 2.15p.m. watchin' The A-Team and then walk to school from Summit , ain't really a drag to walk under the sun from Summit to school for the Teacher's Day audition .

And lastly , Saturday which is today ... it's quite cool to finally manage to loiter (lepak) in Sunway Pyramid with ma friends ... watchin' Toy Story 3 in 3D ... I must say it's awesome if you know what to look for (I'll take your sentence for once , Brandon) ...

Honestly , I'll say all the movies are great .

So yeah , thats bout it ... sounds pretty short but in that amount of time I actually spent like around RM150 ... for tickets , popcorns and drinks ... ma new belt , phone credit and phone charger , new pair of earphones and I think thats it . It's surprisin' to see how much amount of cash can go missin' in such a short duration of time . But there's nothin' we can really do bout it , everythin' rises and falls .

Honestly and seriously , I love da buckle .

School Holidays ... !

Maybe it's just me but I feel like I missed school when I'm having school holidays and vise versa ... I'm stuck at home ... with the computer ! ... somehow I feel like it ain't fun like how it taught it would so I wanna like ya know ... go out ... walk around and play rather then sitting in front of the computer looking at shit ...

Recently , went to KL ... to a hotel ... named ... erm ... The Federal Kuala Lumpur and ate a buffet lunch-dinner at The Verandah (one of the restaurants there )with my brother , mother and my mother's friend ... the cost is outrageous and obviously NOT WORTH IT AT ALL ... well ... its like around RM140++ for 3 people + 1 ( package buy 3 free 1 [ yeah , i'm the free 1 =.= ] )for such limited variety of food and it doesn't really taste that good ... oh well ... whatever ... after that I went to Sunway Pyramid after sending my mother's friend home to buy my cousin a birthday present ... at the same clothing shop , I bought my first vest ! =D

Yeah I know ... It's been a long time since I last updated my blog ... it's not like I don't have time or shit like that ... it's just I don't have the feeling to blog ... but now around 1.00 a.m. on a Saturday morning ... I suddenly got the steam to update my empty blog ...

So what happened ?

Nothin much .

I screwed up almost everything I aimed for . I just screwed everything literally . It seriously fuck the way I feel right now ... Being some lazy shit ... lazing around ...

School was literally boring with crappy teachers teaching ... exams are around the corner ... but I just can't find the steam or motivation to study ...

Now that I'm blogging I realize how much time I wasted doing nothin ...

Well not exactly doing nothin ... I'm actually wrote two unfinished songs ... currently just going around looking for a rhythm ... perfecting my beats ...

Other then that ... shit ...

Oh yes ... the Hari Karnival shit ... In my opinion , the headmistress shouldn't have revealed it so early ... Now people are more interested in the Hari Karnival then exams ... LOL ... My class especially a certain some one is damn over with it ... To be honest , this Hari Karnival seems to be more energetic then the past ones ... the pupils seem to be really looking forward for this event .

I guess that's that . I don't really have much to update ... maybe after exams and Hari Karnival ... for now I think I need a motivation to start studying ... As the day draws nearer and nearer ... I'll be ready for whatever that happens ...

MSSD Chess Competition .

*sigh* I did considerably well on the first day . But on the second day ... the irresponsible and inconsiderate bus driver really fucked the way I felt and really screw my hopes ... He suppose to reach my school at around 8 o'clock in the morning and ... at 8.45 , not a glimpse of his shadow was seen . So in the end we [ all 16 players ( 4 each category ) ( under-18 boys and girls , under-15 boys and girls ) ] took 3 teachers car to go to SMK SSAAS ( Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah ) [ it's in Shah Alam ] ... We reached at around 9.30 ... Game 5 has almost finished and we forfeited that game ...

On the first day , SMK Seafield U-15 boys group topped the charts but we fall to 7th place on the second day after Game 5 ...

Day 1 ( Game 1-4)

We reached the school around 8.30 ... for registration and the first game started off at 10.00 .

First time starting off at the top-10 table for the first game ... so a lil bit more of motivation to ace this game ...

A normal game play ( for me ) with king's pawn up 2 steps and queen's pawn up one step and normal openings ... so since I don't wanna lose this game I decided to go fianchetto my king's side for good defense ... and he did the same =.= so I practically fianchetto my king's side but castled at the queen side leaving my defense very vulnerable ... lucky me lady luck was on my side he didn't know what to do and continued developing his fianchetto defense ...

Ignoring black's pieces , this is the rough outcome from my fianchetto-ed king's side , castled queen's side leaving the a pawn vulnerable . Note : fianchetto is the pieces from f1 , f2 , f3 , g1 , g2 , g3 , h1 , h2 ,h3 . The readings can be referred at the base of the chess board and the left side of the chess board .

Game 2 ( Table 4 ) [ Muazzahin ( SMK Seksyen 7 ) V.S. Chang CY ] ( 0-1 ) [ 2-0-0 ]

Climbing to the top table ... suprisingly Khidhir who started at table 30++ got table 3 =.= . This game was quite an exciting one having 6 pawns , 1 bishop and a king to my opponent's 1 knight and 1 king at the end game ... won by getting 2 of my pawns to queens .

Finally table 1 ... after five years of playing in MSSD Chess competitions ... the first time I get to table 1 ... Haihz maybe over-excited I fell for the stupid bishop down to h1's rook ... haha ... played on and blundered my queen off soon I was left with 2 pawns and 1 king to my opponent's 5 pawns , 1 queen and 1 king luckily ... lady luck was on my side ... He starts to be greedy wanting 2 queens which ended up in a draw even I myself can't confirm how it happen ...

A must win game ... since last year I won all 4 games in the first day ... I just drew 1 means my aim to maintain cannot be reached ... I blundered at the start but he made the fatal blunder around the middle-end game which cause me to lead by 1 knight , 2 bishops , 1 rook , 1 queen to 2 rook , 1 queen and 1 king ( ignoring my pawns ) ... traded off everything leaving me 1 knight , 2 bishops , 1 Queen to his 1 king ... he sacrificed his rook to kill my first queen from pawn promotion .

*sigh* I screwed up my last chance to get top 4 to represent the district by losing this game ... some how I miscalculated twice losing a pawn each without realizing until a few moves after the second miscalculation ... later blundered by not seeing his obvious moves for the checkmate ... possibly lost because i lost to my emotions ...

Game 7 ( Table 18 ) [ ChangCY V.S. Muhd. Fiaznan ( SMK USJ 12 ) ] ( 1-0 ) [ 4 - 1/2 - 2 ]

At this point , I said to myself ... emotions are for the weak ... and for me to succumb to my emotions make me feel weak ... so I said or rather i vowed to win the next 2 just to help out my group to stay in top 4 or at least top 10 although I won't be able to be in the top 4 individuals ... at least i go home with some pride ... Played absolutely offensive this game ... abandoning all sense of defense for offence even my back line rooks are up in the game ... won .

Game 8 ( Table 12) [ Wong Zheng Jie ( SMK Subang Utama ) V.S. Chang CY ] ( 0-1 ) [ 5 - 1.2 - 0 ]

The final game to ace ... and I aced it ... since it is the last game I decided to just use Khidhir's babi opening ... hopefully to find victory in it ... true enough he was confused on what I was doing ... slowly inched out all my pieces without abandoning my defense to ace the game .

Congratz Khidhir who got 6 wins 1 draw to enable him to get 4th position in the individual standings which enables him to represent the district ...

What do I mean ?

Exactly what I stated.

On the 5th and 6th of April , I'll be representing the school for MSSD Chess competition . This is the time to excel my first chess competition for the year . Should I fail , my pride would be dented .

On the 10th and 11th of April , I'll be joining my first Master - category Scrabble competition . Failure is high but it is not an option , Success is low but it is the only option .

On the 13th of April will probably be the Leo I.U. audition , this is where I'll put my whole pride on the line . Should Weng Hang and Diiva fail to reach the level I desire , I'll do a solo performance . This is where absolute success is the only option .

On the 17th or 24th of April , I'll be representing for an inter-school scrabble competition . I will and must excel this .

After my hectic TEST week , preparations for the Interact I.U. Audition , Interact I.U. Audition , holidays and shit , I finally found time to blog ...

Now what has happen to my TEST results ...

Let me see ... It's not exactly good neither is it bad ... it's average ...

Maths - 100% (yay! Finally my first 100 after 3 years in Secondary School)[But the test was easy=( ]

English - around 84 ... I forgotten =( but it sucks since i got 1 wrong out of the 10 objective questions and my essay was not horrible but average ...

Geography - 84 ... test was easy 84 isn't a really a good result ...

History - 62/80 , 79/100 lost 3 marks from the 20 homework marks for some acting shit ... not good ...

Other test papers seems to be stuck in the teachers' arms ...

Interact I.U. Audition

Damn I screwed up some beats ... even after a lot of training *sigh*

Jeez failed ... as I said before "There weren't any miscalculations , That was our greatest miscalculations , Everything fall into the worst case case scenario , just like I thought it would ."

Went Sunway Pyramid with Brandon ( yes , his transport ) and then meet up with Joshua ( no not the black 1 , the white 1 ) ... sadly we bought the 2D tickets ... Burn a hole in my pocket in this outing ... total money spend = RM 88 as I treated them lunch at Pappa Rich and bought two keychains worth RM 15.90 each .The movie was pretty boring so to speak ... guess ... the main point is 3D .*sigh*

I got EEORST? in exchange ... this is the GAY part ... I could've have bingoed ESTROnE , SHE , HIS , BITT for 90 pts but I missed it and fished OE ... On the 8th rack I got EEIRST? , lucky,no?

Placed SERIaTE and BITS for 78 ... A few turns after I wanted to close a bingo line he open with AUK so I supposed to put CON knowing very well he can't bingo me but I put CORN ... as expected he bingoed ISOLATE and ACORN .... for 73 .... I caught up with QUAI for 39 and BLUNDERED AGAIN ... Muslim - cannot eat pork =.= not advised to drink beer/alcoholic drinks , cannot speak a false statement , pray like 5 times a day?

Buddhism - cannot eat beef [selected ones (depending on which god you pray to)] , cannot speak a false statement

Christianity - pray every Sunday / Saturday , cannot speak a false statement

There might be more but I'm pretty lazy to list them all down ...

Now to put God into the world of reality ...
You believe God brought the Earth to reality or all the planets to reality or the solar system to reality or the galaxy to reality or the whole universe to reality OR the multiverse to reality ;)
And you guys believe you are here becoz your god(s) created you,then think of this line in another sense ... ''If God created you , who created God?' or 'God is just there no one created him then you .. no .. we are just here nobody created us' correct,aye?

Now picture yourself in this position ...
You are saving up some money to buy yourself something you dream for quite some time ... and finally you saved up enough money and suddenly you get a phone call 'Yo dude,I'm near bankruptcy ... would you mind if I borrow a few thousand bucks ?' ... If my brother will ask me that I will be like 'Dude,what the fuck?! How the hell did you get bankrupt ??' but due to respect , courtesy , honor , family blood I will lend him a few thousand bucks ...
BUT if the caller would be a friend (not so close but still a friend) I'll be like ... 'Yo dude ... I saved up my money for so long till I can get what I want and now ...' Instead of lending a few thousand bucks , I will lend him only 1 or 2 thousand bucks coz I am a selfish man you see ...

So friend or tied by blood I commited a few sins such as not lending money when I have a lot of them , saying fuck and hell ...
So by doing that I increased my percentages of going to HELL ... See what I mean now ?
Its in our blood to lie and be selfish ... you can't help that coz now in this competitive world giving too much will be your downfall giving too little will send you to HELL ... If you're thinking of giving people an average amount ... that ain't gonna happen coz you won't know how much is average until you see the aftermath of what happens !

So what have I been during the holidays ...
Before WYSC I've been training scrabble and memorizing words ...
Now I'm still memorizing words to prepare for WYSC 2010 ... And this time I'll make it through not as a reserve but a main player .

Results from WYSC 2009 :
I only played 2 games ( Becoz I'm a reserve )
I played against a Nigerian in my first game which is actually the 11th game in the official records
And then I played against a Bahrain where I lost due to luck *sigh* ... MAYBE I could have won IF I was better but ... sadly ... lost ... ( 12th game in official records)

Table Chronology : 40 - 21

Results from Johor Bahru Progressive Round Robin :
Due to playing in WYSC 2009 for 3 games (11,12,13) and missing 2 games (1,2) becoz of uncertainty, I only played 20 games out of the 25 games.

Ended up 11th out of the 36 players .

I won my 1st and 2nd games (3,4) which gave me the motivation to keep on playin for the whole competition before losing my 3rd and 4th game (5,6) . I went on a winning spree of 6 games from my 5th to 10th game (7-15) before getting smashed by 189 pts on my 11th game (16) and pummeled again by 301 pts on my 12th game (17) *sigh* . I won my 13th and 14th game (18,19) before ending the day with a draw =.= . My 15th game (20) was tied 368-368 becoz I tile-tracked wrongly *sigh* ...

On the third and final day I started out with a lost becoz I lack some luck to equalize the score after my opponent bingo me twice to my zero *sigh* [16th (21)] and continue losing the next two games [17th and 18th(22,23)] makin me start the day with 3 losses in a row before winning the last two games [19th and 20th(24,25)] =D !

*somebody replaced me for the 5 games which I didn't play he drew 1 , won 1 , lost 3*

To sum it all up I got :
12.5 out of 20 games
14 out 25 games in official records
1 out of 2 in WYSC 2009

As u can see from the title of the post ....
I failed to enter the WYSC 2009 ...
I didn't prepare properly for this tournament ... BUT ... I don't think so that's the cost ...
It's because all this time entering tourneys I just held to 'If win then win , If lose then lose la ' ...
Thus the deterioration of my rating till it is very low ...
The impact didn't really hit me hard ... just that I felt this result is goin to happen somehow ...
anyways .... that doesn't matter now .... I just have to concentrate on my studies till the end of my final examination before putting my full heart on scrabble ...
Next year I will and must make it to WYSC 2010 in Philippines ! =)
PMR next year will obviously be my first priority but I will try to achieve both priorities ...

Arrived at school at around 9.00 before walking to tuen tjun's house and walking back to school ...
It was kinda noisy when I reached school ... u know ppl acting pro explaining obvious facts to other ppl ...
At first after we saw the paper on the door, we(tuen,joshua,me) thought we have lost coz they cancelled our name but the fact is we havent even played ! So the actual thing was they reshuffled the pairings and by doing that they delayed the competition for like an hour ... Wern Wei 's team with Nicholas,Jim Son and Kavindran surprising lost the first round due to the other cheating my seeing the admin's screen .

Another day to strife all the sufferings and all the complaints and all the naggings
After Hari Karnival and the ending ko-ko life seems to be getting more meaningless
I don't see the perfect reason why I ain't on pills or cigarettes

Every single day I'll be nagged to study or scolded for 'playing' the computer ...
This doesn't make any sense ... The computer games are created for a reason ... to release stress
But for me whenever I play I have to hide it away when my mother is coming
Damn life just seems to get harder whenever exams approach especially PMR , SPM
But for its okay , u know its fine if u panic for PMR and SPM and start nagging me to study ...
I understand that fully but shitty thing is WHY THE FUCK do u even care about school exams?
Its not like school exams are goin to effect my PMR / SPM results , will it?
SO yeah fuck school exams and the fuck the government who made it compulsory and fuck u for liking it ...

Okay for now cut out the situation I'm having with my family

At first , I just let 'em be till their team were down like 5-2, they started playing rough ... Thats the 1 thing I hate most about when I'm playing football coz I know it would obviously make a brawl ... and it did ... Me and Diiva starting cursing 'em after they started cursing us for 'pushing' around ... when they are the one's pushing around ... Obviously me and Diiva got more brains to retort back w/e curse they utter ... P.S. : They hardly know English ... After the scrabble tournament I've been sitting down in front of the computer with no aim or what so ever ... I just felt like I've got no more aims to achieve ... WELL OBVIOUSLY I've a few aims to achieve which is to enter WYSC ( World Youth Scrabble Championship ) , getting better results in my exams , finishing tuition/school homeworks and trying out the new 6.60 DoTA map ...
But well I have this feeling like I'm doin this things for the sake of doin it ...

So as soon as he says that my finger moved towards the front of the extra-sharp knife and ... and ... Zzzz ... Ouch ...Thats exactly wat i said when I cut my finger in a low tone ... Just a small cut ... nothin serious ... got the time to take picture of it :D

So far I study KH, Science and Geo...
Damn hard la
Kh not that hard just need to understand the symbols and other shit .
Science also not that hard ... note that i take Science tuition .
Geo is the stupid shit ... got stupid teacher dunno wtf she teaching retarded 'wantan' ... but still i can understand abit though I have alot of probs with chapter 7 and 9 ... stupid places must memorise this and that why go here why go there ... so confusin =.=
Lucky me got MP3 can listen while studyin ... helps ALOT ...
Though recently have to suffer hearing David Archuleta songs in the radio with bro ... WHAT SO GOOD ABOUT ARCHULETA ... he sing like some retarded baby no offence . only songs A Little Too Not Over You , Touch My Hands and Zero Gravity deserve abit of respect others sound like baby crying or ppl constipating ...

A short post about the blackout on Tuesday night ...

10.45 - Out of a sudden BOOM ! no more lights ... as usual my family thought its the microwave oven that cause it ... ( it usually happen a short-circuit when opening the oven's door) apparently no one was using the oven so obviously it was just the electricity supply in my area ... after I saw all houses' light are off-ed.

10.55 - After lighting up 3 candles ... my mum got bored and took out a Jackers potato chips to eat ...Obviously we cant do anythin durin the blackout.

10.57 - The electricity is back ! So my mum practically wasted her time lighting the candles up ! :D

Live in Texas is Linkin Park's first live album and third DVD ( Frat Party at the Pankake Festival ,The Making of Meteora).

The DVD comes with a bonus CD that features twelve of the songs from the DVD. The other five live tracks can be found on the Linkin Park Underground V3.0 CD. The audio on the CD is mixed differently from the audio on the DVD. The DVD/CD comes in two versions: a CD case and, although harder to find, a DVD case.

The concert footage was shot on August 2 and August 3 during the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas and Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas.

The video footage is made up of the audio from the Dallas show and video from both the Houston and Dallas shows; because of this the band had to wear the same clothes on two shows, although there are still noticeable differences. For example, it can be seen that Mike Shinoda wears two similar but different shirts, Brad Delson's guitar sometimes changes multiple times in the middle of songs from a red PRS to a black Ibanez, despite there being no break in the guitar, as well as lead singer Chester Bennington's shirt soaked with sweat, and it being completely dry the next time he's shown on screen.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich also makes a surprise appearance during LP's set dressed up as a green-fisted bunny man.

Collision Course ( 30/11/2004)

Collision Course is a CD/DVD set released on November 30, 2004 by Jay-Z & Linkin Park. It went to #1 on the Billboard 200, becoming only the second EP to ever do so, following Alice In Chains' Jar of Flies in 1994.

The CD contains six tracks, mashups between songs by both artists.

The DVD contains behind-the-scenes new footage of the making of the album, as well as the second take of all of the Collision Course songs at The Roxy Theatre on July 18, 2004. Also included are the five scenes from the concert shown on MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups and a picture gallery.

The album's first single, "Numb/Encore", achieved great airplay on the charts, and stayed on 6 months after its release. "Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer" was also released to the radio in the US, but was never featured on the Billboard Charts - the videos for both that track and "Jigga What/Faint" were also seen on Kerrang! TV in the UK. "Izzo/In the End" was also heavily promoted on the official Linkin Park websites.

Mike Shinoda revealed in his 2004 Grammys acceptance speech that he would be mashing up with Jay-Z for a record under MTV's Mash Ups show.

The network allowed Jay-Z to choose a group or artist for the mash-up. Jay contacted Shinoda, who began experimenting with mixing the tracks before sending some examples to him. As a result, Jay-Z began working with Shinoda through email.

The two decided that instead of combining the existing tracks for the live performance on MTV, they wanted to re-work and re-record parts of the songs to make them fit better. Shinoda explains, "Jay and I realized it's better to re-perform the rap vocals if you're gonna do it to a new beat because the vibe changes and you have to deliver your verse a little differently.Shinoda asked his bandmates to re-record instrumental and vocal tracks as well, and ultimately both parties decided they wanted to release the studio tracks.

A year after the release of Collision Course, Jay-Z was the executive producer on Mike Shinoda's solo effort Fort Minor's The Rising Tied. Also, the song "High Road" from the same record talks about how some critics called Collision Course a fluke.

This album was also made in an "Edited Version" or a "Censored Version"; however, the edited version was only partly censored and did not censor the words "ass" or "bitch". However in the song "Numb/Encore" it censored the "God" part of "God damn your man Hov' cracked the can open again." This is common among conservative radio stations like WTMX, but many fans found this surprising, both because of Linkin Park and Jay-Z's personality but also because of the rest of the album. There is one part left out on the edited version of the DVD where Jay-Z is recording vocals for "Jigga What/Faint" and says "That shit is fast as shit!"

Minutes to Midnight is the third studio album by American rock band Linkin Park that was released in May 2007. The album has been certified 2× platinum in the United States and shipped over 3.3 million copies worldwide in its first four weeks of release. It is their first studio album with a Parental Advisory label.

The album debuted at number one in the United States and in 15 other countries, including the United Kingdom and Canada, around the world. In the United States, the album had the biggest first week sales of 2007 at the time, with 625,000 albums sold. The album reached number twenty-five on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007. The album has sold 6,515,560 copies worldwide as of March 16, 2009.

Minutes to Midnight was delayed several times before its release. First scheduled for Summer of 2006, then Fall of 2006, then early 2007, the album's release date was finally set for May 15, 2007. In an interview in September 2006, Shinoda explained: "When songs are pouring out you don't ever want to stop that. We already have over 100 roughs for songs. We've narrowed it down since but we're not ready to commit to those yet."

From the late stages of the demo sessions, the song "QWERTY", which was rumored to be on Minutes to Midnight, appeared on the Linkin Park Underground v6.0 CD on December 5, 2006 in both live and studio demo versions.

"This was a year-and-a-half long process of really hard work and experimentation in the studio that yielded about 150 rough songs," guitarist Brad Delson told Billboard.com. "Not only is this album incredibly diverse, but the depth of the material is really strong."

The first single, "What I've Done", was released April 2, 2007, and debuted at number one on the United States Modern Rock chart.

"Given Up", "What I've Done" and "No More Sorrow" made their live debut on April 28, 2007 in Berlin. Live performances of these three songs at the Sessions@AOL were released on AOL on May 5, 2007.

On May 12, 2007, Linkin Park played "Bleed It Out" on Saturday Night Live, along with "What I've Done". Also, on May 18, 2007, Linkin Park appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and again performed "What I've Done" and "Bleed It Out".

On December 20, 2007, "No More Sorrow" was released as a playable song for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. It is available in the Xbox Live Marketplace to buy for 500 Microsoft Points in a pack with two other songs. The song is also available for the PlayStation 3 to buy in the PlayStation Network.

On January 16, 2008, "Valentine's Day" finally made its live debut in Hannover, Germany.

"What I've Done" is a playable song on the game Guitar Hero World Tour.

CD/DVD Special Editions

A CD/DVD Special Edition of Minutes to Midnight is available. It is designed to look like a book and contains a 24-page art book featuring the lyrics and conceptual art by artists who are friends with the band, along with pictures of the recording process. The cover of the North American version is grey, but in all other areas is black.

The bonus DVD contains the following:

The band also released a Super Fan Edition of the album which is only available on their online store. The only difference to the Special Edition was the book (being of 68 pages rather than 24). The DVD contains the same content.

There have been a number of problems with the DVD. Users have experienced problems accessing the DVD-ROM features, as certain computers may not be able to access the enhanced portion of this disc. In Canada, Warner Records recalled the CD/DVD edition due to the faulty DVD. The final release date for the repaired discs is yet to be known. As such orders are no longer available from the website BandMerch.com, nor is it available in stores. It is still available at some local Wal-Marts, yet the DVD is still faulty.

Clean Edition

There were non-Parental Advisory releases of both the regular album and the special edition album. The songs "Given Up", "Bleed It Out", and "Hands Held High" were slightly edited, by the removal of most profanities but not all. In Malaysia, clean edition for the album is available in digipak cover while the explicit edition available for the Tour Edition which features white slipcase cardboard cover and a standard jewel case.

Anniversary covers

After a year of the release of Minutes to Midnight, Linkin Park released a number of different covers that they had considered for the final cover, and making them available for fans to use as the album art on iTunes. There are 10 available.

Sound

In an interview with Chester Bennington, he explained that the new album is a mix of punk, classic rock, and hip-hop standards. "Rick has brought more of a stripped down, classic-rock and hip-hop kind of feel."

In another interview with Chester, he stated "This time around, Mike Shinoda is singing a lot more. It may seem like he's not on the record, but he's doing a lot of the harmonies. He also sings a couple of songs alone. We're presenting ourselves in a different way."

"We were looking back at the things that we had done in the past... and I think we just figured that we had exhausted that sound. It was easy for us to replicate, it was easy for other bands to replicate, and we just needed to move on," said Mike Shinoda.

This is their first album to contain guitar solos (particularly "The Little Things Give You Away" and especially "In Pieces"). Unlike the two previous studio albums, Minutes to Midnight contains profanity and politically-charged lyrics.

Mike Shinoda performs his rapping vocals on only two tracks, "Bleed It Out" and "Hands Held High". This is a significant decrease compared to the amount of rapping on previous albums. The rap vocals on "Hands Held High" are much closer styled to Mike Shinoda's side project Fort Minor than his traditional Linkin Park verses. All the songs that contain rap vocals also contain profanity, unlike their other records. Despite a decrease of Mike Shinoda as rapper, he has two solo lead songs on the record. He raps on "Hands Held High", which features background vocals from the entire band (the "men's choir" singing "Amen" is actually each member of the band) and he sings on "In Between". He also sings solo on the bonus track "No Roads Left" in a much more aggressive rock style than on "In Between" with no backing vocals from Bennington. "The Little Things Give You Away" and "Hands Held High" also feature singing vocals from Shinoda at the end.

All scratching elements by Joe Hahn that existed in the previous two studio albums are largely absent, except on the songs "What I've Done", "Wake" and "In Pieces". Hahn contributes more with programming, electronica, and other elements to many of the songs.

Guitarist Brad Delson experimented with an E-Bow when the band was piecing together "The Little Things Give You Away". The band decided not to use the effect for the solo in that song and instead ended up creating "No More Sorrow" out of the effect. In "Given Up" you can hear him jingling his keys while Mike Shinoda claps.

The Church organ and military drumbeat on Hands Held High were originally to be used as the backdrop to melodic vocals, but Rubin recommended that the band try the opposite approach according to the album booklet.

"Shadow of the Day" is one of two songs (the other being "No Roads Left") to have Chester playing an instrument. At concerts, Mike is generally playing the keyboard for this song and cannot play the rhythm correctly.

Woke up at around 7.00 a.m. for Chess&Scrabble Club... Felt so sleepy and lazy ... Left my bed in a very messy look ... Took a quick shower and get my school clothes on b4 putting my bed back to a tidy condition. I went down slowly and took my breakfast ... and waited for my mother ...
Reached school at around 8.10 a.m. , sit down alone like a new kid ( I felt like 1) coz there was nobody that I know around to talk to . So I waited till 8.30 a.m. when Loong Yi came greeted him and then waited for more people to come . Approximately 8.45 a.m. Tuen Tjun arrived so I played chess with him ... won ... Played with Khidir later ... obviously I lost ...
After Chess&Scrabble Club finished I followed Diiva and Dina back home with Chooi and Jared ... When Jared ride a bicycle then i said I couldn't cycle a bicycle ... Its sensible though ... I rarely got on a bicycle b4 ... So they taught me ... Jared got a video of it maybe he'll post it in his blog maybe not ... Damn I still cant balance myself on the bicycle. I reached Diiva's house at around 11.00 a.m. went to his room to put some songs into his computer and helping him out with his KH project before I started Dota-ing for awhile then I stopped. Skipped lunch ... I figure out it will be quite impolite to accept the lunch offer coz I came to the house without any prior notice so yeah I skipped lunch ... We walk to Chooi's house for the fun of it then to Dom's then back to Chooi's while goin to school. Later car-pooled Chooi's mother's car with Dirran,me,Diiva,Dina,Chooi and Chooi's mother.School damn borin ... as a result for not having lunch I felt so damn tired in class ... and didn't had the heart to do anythin.

I'm blogging again after a few days ... A quick rundown on wat happen on Wednesday and Thursday ...

Nothing really exciting just that durin Chinese time ... we( Brandon,Weng Hang and me) kinda of 'sing' just to annoy the hell out of Daryl so that he does not sleep ... Nothin much after that only more nagging at home .

Thursday
Ah ... today ada PJ ... So as usual I think most of us are just waiting for PJ w/e u guys think but I'm waiting for PJ lol . So PJ we played 3v3 futsal ...later joined by Jia Yinn and Piriyanka who played for awhile ... Then I went to see wat is Dom,Sean,Fat Kong and Brandon doin ... So I think by doin that I made a problem ... Diiva went together with Prasath's ball to call to play futsal ... Then the ball rolled into a drain ! So we were like SHIT ! we started finding for a long stick to push the ball to the other end of the drain ... Its not the open drain its uhh underground drain ! :D Going to the construction site we took a long metal piece and started pushing the ball ... After for 2-3 minutes we realized a long pipe ( its actually a pole ) is stuck in the underground drain ... see how smart Malaysians r? we each took turns to push the pole but sadly nothin happens ... then Daryl and Brandon demotivate us by saying ' Its just a ball ... U cant take it out-la' ... stupid ppl go play badminton and not helping out . After 30 minutes of pushing by Joshua who joined us shortly after we started pushing the pole ... the pole came out from the other end and after a fair 3-4 minutes we retrieve the ball ... All of us were shouting for the fun of it or maybe for joy so half of the Malays who were playing netball gaves a stare.
Ok I'm told to this ... ppl involve in this uhh ball retrieving mission : Diiva , Prasath , (thnx alot man) , Joshua , Belmain , Weng Hang , Dominic , Sean , Brandon and Daryl ( U two were involve but u actually did nothin much so ... no thnx to u ) , Fat Kong ( at least he did somethin ) and the last 1 ... me !

I wanted to off the fan so she doesn't come to our class ... sadly I was too slow so me , Diiva and Prasath I think ... ran out of the class ... upon reaching the 2nd floor Diiva headed for the library while me and Prasath just continue goin down to the ground floor ... Thats where the 'adventure' begins ... Later me and Prasath went looking for the rest ... we met everyone with us a few moments ago except Weng Hang and Diiva ... So ... yeah we decided to go looking for those two ... the obvious place we checked first was the library ... Diiva went in but when we arrived he went out already ... So we went searching in the whole school ... and then coming to the fact he was in the room where all the pengawas pusat sumber keep their bags=.=

So yeah...we wasted our energy AND time ...

This is our special edition sketch XD ... we (Diiva and me) photostatted the original sketch and put the the words 'Love Brandon Choo' ... Dunno whether u guys can see the words anot ... its at the bottom right corner ... There are 4 of this copies if i'm not mistaken ... I got the original 1 and this special edition 1 the other 16 normal sketch and 3 special edition sketch is missing ...

These sketch got Brandon in trouble with Pn.Heng ... Wei Teng told her about the sketches ... When Brandon came back after seeing Pn.Heng he was like pensived ... later stating Pn.Heng gonna call his parents ... Mehz...I tripped in da uh...house :D coz of the slippery floor...and this is what the FUCK i get !!! Mehz lucky it missed my eye by an inch or less...It doesn't look serious coz i wiped out the worst of it and treated it...My mother said the scar might scar me for...LIFE !!
